We can’t let the Media continue to make our life choices. Too many times we have allowed Fox News or CNN to tell us who is good, bad or guilty! Like the rest of America, I once believed that the images I saw on TV were the absolute truth. The Values Of Voting As President of the Sacramento NAACP Branch, I am encouraging everyone in the community to vote. Its important that we "Value our Vote and Vote our Values," which is the cry from the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People, nationwide. Does My Vote Really Count This is the question that is asked by many both young and old. I often wonder if my vote really has an effect on the issues of the world that affect me as well as others. I hear many of our young people decrying the value of their vote and just deciding that they are going to do what they want to do anyway. The Black Leadership Gap LOS ANGELES' BLACK leadership is a microcosm of black leadership everywhere: a superficially similar but fractured collection of individuals and interest groups that can nonetheless unite in the heat of a racially controversial moment, especially if there are cameras rolling. Never has this been more evident than in the last week at the side of Tennie Pierce. |
